The daylight is now at about 12 hrs and 20 min., and gaining about 3 minutes per day. More time to study, as well as to get outside and think about chemical equilibria. It is somewhat strange that this particular chemistry text, has not introduced what i would call...the rest of thermodynamics, i.e. the second and third laws that are useful for understanding the relationships between heat, work and disorder that govern how systems change...eventually arriving at equilibrium. Maybe. Most of the systems we see around us...are far from equilibrium...and the direction of change is driven by non-equilibrium thermodynamics...a far more mathematically complicated situation. But I digress...
I put up a MC assignment for Chapter 15, so start looking at those problems. Once you understand how to solve basic problems in Chapter 15 we can apply these techniques to many areas of chemistry.
