I posted the raw scores for the final...along with a percentage of total points for the class. The average for the final was 46 (out of a possible 70). This average corresponds to a percentile score of 71. The high score for this exam was 55, and represents a score at 90th percentile. Overall...71st percentile is a good-showing...so congratulations.
In calculating your final grade I did several things: 1) the final was curved to the average of all in class exams (80/100); 2) I dropped the lowest exam score (something I rarely do), and I adjusted in-class exam scores to weight improvement. So if you got a lower score on one exam, but improved on the subsequent exam...your lower score was adjusted...i.e. increased. If your scores did not improve, no adjustments were made.
Of course, if you have any questions or concerns about your scores...please email, call or come by. I'll be out of town after the 11th, but still may have email access.
Otherwise...have a great summer!

The Final
Don't forget the final...which is the American Chemical Society (ACS) Standardized final for first year general chemistry.
CHEM1266 Final
Tuesday, May 5, 2009. 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The final consists of 70 multiple-choice questions to be taken in 120 minutes.
Your score is based on the number of questions you answer correctly. There is no penalty for incorrect answers. Therefore it is to your advantage to answer every question - even if you have no idea which answer is correct, however often obvious wrong answers can be eliminated.
Unfortunately, ACS no longer has an example test-bank online...just the guide in the library.
However, I found a link to some ACS like tests online here.
